To drive our growth, we are always looking for the best talent to join our teams across all our divisions. WasteCare are seeking a Compliance Officer to work within the QHSE Team, to help ensure our business continues to operate compliantly and drive future improvements.


The right candidate


Will be a self-motivated team player who is passionate about their work with a “can do” attitude.  Ideally with environmental management experience in the waste sector, computer literate and good communication skills.  The role is a long term position with scope for progression and the Group is willing to invest in training and personal development.


Key duties include:

  • Ensure the data returns are submitted to the regulators in the correct format by the correct deadline date.
  • Ensure Annual Site Performance reports and Pollution Inventory data returns and collated, checked and submitted in the correct format by the correct deadline date.
  • Assist with internal audits and help all sites to achieve a high operation standard. Carry out external duty of care audits
  • Develop companywide work instructions and procedures across all sites and activities to aid the day to day running of the business
  • Support Health and Safety / Site Compliance data analysis, identifying key monitoring targets.
  • Assist in investigating accidents / incidents
  • Coordinate the AATF site protocol trials every 6 months, ensuring that the correct protocol weights for WEEE are used across the business
  • Coordinate AATF, ABTO and ABE compliance reporting.
  • Collate third party AATF data, ensuring input data matches site output data and any site protocols are applied
  • Assist with ISCC audits, data collation and UCO mass balance reports
  • Help to develop the company wide ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO27001 certification
  • Help achieve and successfully implement ISO 45001
  • Learn the Environmental Permitting process including the response to Schedule 5 notices
  • Learn the Fire Prevention plan process, submission of FPP and response to the EA
  • Manage waste export applications and notifications using the IWS system
  • Analyse and report quarterly and bi-annually emissions data for three different locations

COTC is a Level 4 NVQ in Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Management

  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate
  • Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor

Package & benefits:

Starting salary TBC with contributory pension, death in service insurance and 30 days annual holiday allowance including public and bank holidays. Permanent contract based on a 40 hour working week, with 1 hour lunch break.
