Industrial Container Recycling by Wastecare

Most industrial packaging, from 20 litre HDPE bottles, 205 litre steel drums, to 1,000 litre IBC containers, have a second life after we have reconditioned and recertified for reuse.

Containers not suitable for reuse, are decontaminated and the materials separated for further recycling and recovery. This means zero to landfill, and provides a 90% carbon reduction.

If your containers are housing waste, we will help you to identify, collect, and responsibly manage it in line with the UK Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005.

Bulk hazardous waste recycling

Wastecare’s specialist treatment and recycling facilities manage most categories of hazardous and challenging waste in bulk.

Industrial packaging is treated at one of our two specialist facilities here in the UK.

After being cleaned using a bespoke chemical wash plant, the packaging will be valued. If deemed fit-for-reuse, we pay rebates for the reconditioned containers.

If not, the packaging will be chemically cleaned, crushed, and shredded. Any plastic is then granulated for re-extruding, and the steel smelted for reforming.

Our other specialist recycling facilities include:

  • Industrial liquid waste treatment
  • Portable battery recycling
  • WEEE reuse and recovery
  • High-temperature incineration

Yes, if containers meet our strict quality and safety criteria, we will recondition and recertify them for reuse, reducing your costs and environmental footprint. If they’re not suitable for reuse, we clean, crush, and recycle the materials. Plastic is granulated, steel is smelted, and nothing goes to landfill.
