About Us

WasteCare, formerly known as Silver Lining Industries, was established in 1980 with a focus on recycling photographic, x-ray, and printing waste to recover Silver.

Over the decades, we have grown and evolved to manage the recycling of over 1,000 different waste streams across all commercial and industrial sectors, regardless of the volume, location, or type of waste. Today, our team of over 400 dedicated professionals collects and recycles more than 60,000 tonnes of hazardous and difficult waste annually for over 20,000 organisations across the UK.

Our mission is to simplify waste management while ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering exceptional service quality and value. We are committed to guiding our clients through the complexities of waste legislation, handling all types of waste safely, and adopting environmental best practices. By placing our clients at the heart of everything we do and continuously investing in innovative technology, we aim to provide a flexible and tailored waste management service that meets the evolving needs of our clients and the industry.

Our Story

WasteCare’s journey began in 1980 with a simple yet ambitious goal: to recycle photographic and industrial waste to recover valuable materials. As the industry evolved, so did we.

Our growth has been driven by a deep understanding of our clients’ needs, combined with a commitment to continuous innovation. Over the years, we have introduced groundbreaking services, such as providing online access to client accounts and developing the myWaste app, which allows clients to manage their waste securely from any device. Our pioneering spirit is reflected in our achievements, from being the first in the sector to obtain BS5750 accreditation in 1993 to our leadership in the circular economy, returning over £5 million annually to clients through recovered materials.
