AssetCare passes unannounced ADISA audit

Posted on 3rd May, 2016

AssetCare have passed their recent unannounced ADISA Audit and remain ADISA certified.

The auditor arrived without warning at our secure IT processing site in Normanton on the 7th of April to perform the necessary checks to ensure the requirements for the ADISA certification are still being upheld by AssetCare.

Launched in 2010, the ADISA IT Asset Disposal Standard focusses on the security aspects of IT asset recovery and in 2013 the Standard was formally recognised by the Ministry of Defence and CESG committee, DIPCOG.

The audit process is multi-layered and includes:

– Full audits by UKAS certified auditors.

– Unannounced operational audits.

– Unannounced forensic audits.

This approach means that ADISA Certified companies have an obligation to maintain the highest standards at all times as an audit failure could lead to suspension or removal from the program.

Continued ADISA accreditation reassures AssetCare customers that they are using a company that maintain the highest standards with regard to data sanitisation, secure processing and WEEE treatment services.

Commercial Director, Alexander West commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have passed this audit and continue to hold our elite ADISA certification. The audits are very in depth and provide a detailed assessment of our IT treatment capabilities. We are very passionate about maintaining data security and delivering a service to our customers that adheres to the very highest standards, so it is fantastic to have this service formally recognised once more.”

With the changes to the EU data protection regulations finally agreed, it is only a matter of time before they are enshrined into UK law. With this in mind, maintaining ADISA certification has never been more important as it will help AssetCare to prepare for the changes to come.  Over the coming weeks, AssetCare will be issuing guidance regarding the data protection changes, helping customers to understand and prepare for any necessary changes to working procedures.
