£500 reward for manual handling

Posted on 28th August, 2014

Great-idea-graphicTo reduce manual handling and improve efficiencies on battery sorting, the team at Normanton have developed a lifting device for the large drums that contain mixed batteries. This is a manually operated lifting device that eliminates the need to tie up a forklift truck and has reduced manual handling of the drums to a minimum and will increase efficiencies by up to 40%. All of the materials used were salvaged from customer collections and off-cuts or metal received, labour in assembly was the only cost.

As a result of their increased efficiency, the Normanton team was given a £500 reward. We are sure each of the team will invest their money wisely!
