After a year of on-site audits and intense due diligence by AECOM and PPG, Packcare Avonmouth were recently awarded the packaging recycling contract for the PPG Group of companies, with roll out commencing at their Stowmarket operation.

Packcare have committed to an offering of 100% recycling for all packaging collected, ranging from small 500ml containers through the full range up to IBCs, regardless of prior contents.

The Avonmouth site’s high temperature treatment plant is the only one of its type in the UK and it is uniquely suited to compliantly decontaminating packaging having contained very viscous, hazardous and toxic materials such as paints, resins and most non-water soluble products. All of this is done with the result that no contaminated washings, solvents, detergents or caustics are produced from this process.

PPG recognised this technology as “best in class” and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them in the coming years.
