At an end… for now!

Posted on 1st July, 2013

WasteCare have been part of the team that has just completed Europe’s largest digital switchover campaign. Starting in early 2011 WasteCare were tasked with providing a collection and recycling service for over 1,400 aerial transmitter installations across the whole of the British Isles. Located up mountains, on remote islands from the Scilly Isles to the Shetlands, the work involved collecting over 2300 tonnes of recyclable materials and valuable metals on time every time.

Phil Smith, Implementation Director at ICEE expressed his gratitude, “As the work to decommission the Arqiva Broadcast sites comes to a close this month, I would like to say a big thank you to the Wastecare team for your part in effecting what is probably, the largest single decommissioning project to date of Television Broadcast equipment in Europe – if not the world.”

Leigh Jagger and Jen Carmichael have handled every collection throughout the process and along with the rest of the team, have been highly praised by the client. Editors note: Well done team. We are trying to find a more remote location for your next challenge!
