The Annual Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management were held in London last month.
The event, which is supported by the WasteCare Group saw a range of awards given to businesses, councils and individuals across the recycling spectrum.
At the Awards, the Zero Waste scheme’s top presentation was made, in the form of a platinum award to Kettleby Foods of Leicestershire.
Pictured presenting the award is Peter Hunt of WasteCare (centre) with Charlotte Hawkins to Kettleby Foods representatives and with (right) Steve Eminton of letsrecycle.com which organised the event.
Senior judge for the Awards, Linda Crichton of WRAP, said:
“When details of all the entries arrive I sometimes worry if there will be new ideas and solutions. But, then I have no doubt because it is wonderful to see how many people are still devising new and improved ways of delivering services and communications with innovation and fresh ideas.”
ITV presenter and awards host, Charlotte Hawkins said:
“To me it is so interesting and exciting to see the very wide example of the sector, which seems to involve much more than I would ever have thought: I see we have finalists from councils, companies, charities and individuals ranging from council officers to fantastic collection crews.”
