Deane’s dragons

Posted on 28th August, 2014

WasteCare Group is among those helping to ensure that the Taunton Deane Dragon Trail is a success this summer. WasteCare, is helping trail organisers transport the dragons to the town from where they are ‘born’ in Wales and then onto local outlets for decorating.

The trail is being organised by a team of volunteers led by the Mayor of Taunton Deane, Dave Durdan. “We try to get involved in the communities in which we are based. When we heard about this project it seemed natural to step forward,” said Mark Gaughan, WasteCare’s Logistics Manager.

WasteCare also have a connection to the trail as Dave Durdan’s son, Neil, is our Taunton Service Centre Manager.

Commenting on the scheme Mark said: “A lot of our county towns are struggling to adapt to the new world order, anything a bit unusual like this that puts a smile on people’s faces can only help.”

Meanwhile, completed dragons have already been making sneak public appearances in the build-up to their big release over the summer.
