The distributor take-back scheme was set up as a mandatory requirement, ensuring electrical retailers offer a take-back service to customers, in turn reducing unnecessary landfill. WasteCare Group set up an alternative to the Valpak run DTS which provided the service at considerably lower cost. Since the introduction in 2009, over 500 electrical retailers have joined WeeeCollect; the alternative to the costly Distributor Take-back Scheme (DTS).

Many of these members have already taken advantage of our free store collection service, with over 40,000 tonnes of WEEE being collected and recycled over the last 3 years.
