Last month WasteCare collected over a tonne of unwanted WEEE from a major bank, only to be told later that two hard-drives had been inadvertently discarded amongst the thousands of other units.

Fortunately, thanks to WasteCare’s tracking system, the two hard-drives were quickly retrieved and returned to their rightful owner. It is another reminder that you can’t be too careful when disposing of unwanted IT. The value is in the data – not the hardware, but making sure your unwanted IT goes to an ADISA-accredited recycler goes a long way to ensuring your priceless data does not inadvertently end up in the wrong place.
