WasteCare has been successfully trading with Hi Group for over 12 months now, collecting used and refurbished white goods. The equipment is returned to our WEEE facility in Normanton where the goods are tested and prepared for resale. This process ensures high quantities of A-C grade white goods which would otherwise end up in landfill are diverted for reuse.

The recent economic downturn has made trading conditions for the Hi Group increasingly difficult and the company recently went into administration endangering the partnership with WasteCare. Hisense, one of China’s biggest appliance manufacturers recognised the potential of Hi Group’s operations and snapped up the business. The newly named Hisense are continuing operations and will still reap the benefits of the great value and green credentials WasteCare Group can offer through its reuse operation. Hisense employs over 60,000 people worldwide and it is reasonable to expect they will become a major player in the UK over the next few years.
