Normanton security

Posted on 6th November, 2012

WasteCare’s Normanton facility is the largest within the group with over 120,000 sq feet of storage space housed within 3 giant warehouses. When the facility was first acquired it was hard to imagine how this enourmous space could be utilised. Little over 18 months later and the site is completely full; each warehouse is being used for different recycling and reuse processes.

The latest recycling and reuse operation to be implemented on the site is the testing and reuse of white goods, this operation has grown substantially over recent months and now occupies a whole warehouse where the equipment is tested, graded and repaired. This operation perfectly compliments the existing IT reuse operation on the site. Development of the site continues and advanced security measures have now been installed to further boost the credentials of the site. There is now a double security check in operation whereby automated registration recognition software controls a sunken barrier followed by a manned checkpoint with a second standard (traffic arm) barrier.
