Schools out for summer

Posted on 18th August, 2011

The plan to promote battery recycling in homes is gathering pace. BatteryBack has now taken delivery of 150,000 of battery boxes intended for use in the home.

Already over 1000 schools (120,000 children) have asked to join the scheme. The plan is to expand the scheme nationally in the autumn term.

Schools are offered incentives with exciting prizes such as laptops for the schools that collect the most batteries per pupil. This project is aimed at not only sourcing more batteries for the UK’s favourite battery scheme but is also helping promote battery recycling to the general public.
