Over 2 years ago, the decision was taken to transfer all WEEE reuse and recycling facilities to the new 120,000 sq foot Normanton site. It was at this time that a plan was conceived to construct one of the most advanced waste transfer facilities in the UK. Fast forward 2 years and the site is unrecognisable, the yard has been reengineered installing concrete segregation bays designated for different types of hazardous material. New bunding, drainage and a 50 tonne catchment tank have also been fitted to ensure the surrounding area remains unaffected by site activities.
The development has been extended to the warehouse where balers and shredders have been installed for the processing of dry waste and secure destruction.
