As this week is National Recycle Week it’s a perfect opportunity to remind you of the importance of recycling and how Wastecare has been servicing the UK’s recycling needs.

Wastecare via our BatteryBack compliance scheme continues in its communication campaigns to help change the battery recycling behaviour of the public. This year this included consumer research and radio campaigns alongside funding the Easter battery hunt trial run by Duracell involving 10,000 primary school children back in April.

It doesn’t stop there; in Q4 of 2017 WasteCare will have opened the UK’s first alkaline battery recycling facility located at our existing sorting plant at Halifax, this will play a huge part in helping the UK meet its annual recycling target.
